MTAs and NDAs
Obtaining Materials from McMaster (MTAs)
Transferring tangible research materials between McMaster and industrial or academic partners for research purposes is a common occurrence. The McMaster Industry Liaison Office is responsible for arranging the legal agreements that facilitate these transfers. Using a standard Material Transfer Agreement (MTA), MILO ensures that the interests of all parties are protected.
Talking Confidentially (NDAs)
Similarly, A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is used to protect the confidentiality of an invention when it is being evaluated by potential licensees. NDAs also protect potential partners when university researchers need to review proprietary information to evaluate research opportunities, such as a sponsored research contract. Our standard NDA is available for your review.
